Today, Sofie laughed and she cried. This is great even though I thought she was going to be the easiest baby in the world. When I arrived at the orphanage today, I heard a baby crying in Room 4 (that's Sofie's room) I wondered which baby it was this time. To my surprise, it was my little girl, just screaming away in her high chair. Some tiny little tears were running down her cheeks. I couldn't believe it was Sofie. She never cries. So I got to pick her up and comfort her. That was nice. Her caretaker Galina was off over the weekend and she came over to tell me how much Meruert has changed in just one week. She is so much stronger, so much more active. She said I was a good mama for her.
She is also smiling more, and I can get her to laugh by tickling her belly. We are having so much fun together.
