Time is flying by for us. It's been two weeks since Sofie took her first steps. Her walking is improving everyday. She is now walking about 50% of the time. She is a very determined little girl. She falls constantly, but keeps on getting up and trying again. She still grins with pride when she walks, but her giggle that you heard on the video has stopped. Good thing we caught it on tape!
She is repeating words like: purple, ducky, oh oh, oma, and mama. She sings the ABC song in her own baby way. She talks a lot....if I only understood baby talk.
Sofia has had three swim classes, and I'm happy to report that she no longer cries. I started taking her a little early so she can get used to the pool. And we stay after class to play in the shallow end. She seems to be enjoying swimming now. Should be a fun summer.

Four Months Together
As you can see on the video below, Sofia has taken her first steps!!!!
We were visiting our friends yesterday and she just started walking from the chair across the room to me. We cheered and clapped and were so excited and proud of her. She loved every second of it and kept walking to me over and over again. Today we will keep practicing and soon she will be walking all over the place.
So now, it's four months today that Sofia has been home. I didn't know that I was adopting not only a beautiful baby, but also a puppy and a parrot, too. She follows me EVERYWHERE and repeats many, many words or sounds. We have been enjoying the wonderful Spring weather and going for walks along the lake and around our neighborhood.
She is having a growth spurt right now and I think she has gained weight. That makes her between 21 and 23 pounds (according to my scale). And I know she is getting taller because her long pants are becoming Capris. Just in time for summer!!

First Time Swimming
Well, I think its time to leave Omama's old bathtub behind and start bathing in the big one. Yesterday, Sofia had her first experience in a pool. She was afraid of the openness of a huge swimming pool. It's difficult to go from the confines of the little tub she is used to, (you can see it in the photos from the last post below) to a great big swimming pool. She cried at first, but got used to it by the end of class time. I'm sure she will feel better about it after a few more sessions in the Infant Swim Class.
Doesn't seem to mind posing in her swimsuit for a photo, though.
