Woo hoo!!! I can stand way up high!

Sofie, Sofie, Hey Sofie, Sofia!

Two "Firsts" on the almost last day of January

Everyday Sofie is learning something new or trying something new. Today she did two new things. First, she stood up in her crib!! Yikes! I know what you're thinking. Look out. Soon she'll be on the loose. She loved the feeling of standing in there. She could hang on to the crib rail easily and she felt control over her balance. I think she would have stood there until tomorrow if I would have let her.

Also, I finally broke out an Elmo DVD. She is very attracted to TV as it is. The colors and sound are a magnet to her eyes. So I wondered how she would enjoy a children's show. Well, it was like talking to a guy who is watching the Superbowl. I did not exist for about 15 minutes. Only Sofie and Elmo in their own little world. Good thing its educational stuff. My daughter is in love with a red monster.

Well it's about time

Hello friends,
Sofia has been home for exactly one month now. Thanks for waiting so long for some updates on the blog. We have thoroughly enjoyed the new addition to our family. She has brought us all so much joy and love. What a great Christmas we had!!

Sofia has changed so much since she has arrived. Her personality is blossoming into quite a nice little person. She is smiling and making funny faces. Ahhhhhh was her sound when she first arrived. She now babbles many different sounds, having her own little conversations. Physically, she has not only learned to sit up alone, but she can get up to sitting position from lying down. She really wants to walk and tries to take steps, but is still a bit wabbly.

She has a Zachari appetite, and I am proud to announce that she has gained 3 pounds this month, and moved from the 10th percentile to the 50th in weight!! All of her blood tests came back normal. She is a very healthy little girl. Hooray!!

Yesterday she had her first vaccinations and it was not pleasant. Sofie is doing pretty well. Just a slight fever and a bit fussy. It's me who is having a difficult time. Its hard being a mom when your baby is in pain and has a fever. Many friends have told me, this is just part of it, and she'll be back to her normal self soon.

Thanks for checking back to see how life is going for Sofia. I'll try to be better about posting new photos more often.

Life is good..... I got my bottle and I got my bear
