Savoring the Warm November Days
Big Sisters.....Best Friends
Every year, I attend the annual Advent workshop with my goddaughter Abby, and her cousins Maureen and Monica. This year, Sofia joined in with two of her godmothers. A new tradition begins for Sofie.

I'm 20 Months Old!!!
Tonight, we brought this kitchen home for Sofia. She really likes gadgets, and opening and closing things, so a kitchen seemed like just the right toy for her. In her first few minutes in her kitchen, she really seems to like it. Maybe there will be another chef in our family.
This past month Sofie was sick with a very bad cold. She was not sick at all for the first nine months here, and then she got her first cold. Boogers, lots of boogers. After three weeks, of that first cold, she had just about beat it, and she got another! This was a doosey. She really didn't feel well. Couldn't breath out of her nose, even more boogers. (I guess she's making up for having none during the first nine months.) To top it off, her eye teeth are working their way through. They have kept her (us) up many a nights. Hopefully, they will grow through soon.
Here are some of her words: apple (of course the Apple Baby should say "apple") , duck, tante, purple, mama, oma, up, okay, help, milk, more, and the dreaded, NO.....although she says, "no, no, no" in a soft voice.
She is getting taller everyday. I'll measure her tomorrow and add it to the blog.......
She is now 33 1/2 inches tall!! She grew a 1/4 inch this past month.

Eleven Months Together
Sofia arrived in the USA 11 months ago. You can take the girl out of Kazakhstan, but you can't take the Kazakh out of the girl. Sofie's most favorite activity is riding on my back. She absolutely loves it. She could ride all day. (Too bad her mamma can't run that long.) The Kazakhs are known to be great horsemen. To this day, the Kazakhs uphold this tradition with horse riding games and contests at their annual celebrations.
.........or, she's a typical 20 month old girl who loves, loves, loves piggy back rides!!
